Pro Club Platinum

Pro Club Platinum is a new rewards tier for professional breeders to get rewarded for Purina Pro Plan referrals with a credit of up to $70 (70 PRO Points) per new pet owner (see Terms). One of the Platinum requirements is submission of breed health testing. You can learn more about all Platinum requirements and benefits on Purina.ca/proclub, or on the Benefits landing page in your Pro Club account.

Health Testing Requirements

  • Specific tests are required by breed, choose your breed below to see the list of tests.
  • We are looking to see a representation of your health testing for approximately half of your adult breeding dogs or cats.
  • We accept test results, health certificates (e.g., OFA), vet vaccination certificates, veterinary records and invoices indicating that a test/screen was completed.
  • We do not evaluate results, only that the tests were completed.
  • This will be a one-time upload and approval, no need to submit ongoing health testing.

Health Testing FAQ

No, the Platinum Health Testing requirement is for adult breeding dogs and cats only. For Platinum members we do also ask for proof of veterinary care for each litter. That can be uploaded from the Kit page after your Kit order is approved.

We are looking for a representative sample of your adult breeding dogs or cats or about half, so it depends on the size of your kennel/cattery. If half is a large number you can stop at five dogs/cats. Also, we recognize that you may not have the original health testing results for males if they are owned by another breeder, so you may wish to focus on breeding females.

All of the testing requirements can be researched online. If you have further questions, please contact our team at proclubcan@purina.nestle.com.

We accept results from any DNA panel provider with the required genetic tests. For example, Neogen PawPrint Genetics, Wisdom Panel and Embark, or NeoGen My CatScan for cats.

Our goal is to partner with responsible breeders who prioritize pet health and follow best practices for the humane care of dogs and cats. While Health Testing is just one piece of the overall picture of responsible breeding, we feel it is a positive indicator. Additionally, we may with your permission provide pet owners seeking breeder referrals with names of Pro Club Platinum breeders whose health records have been reviewed by our team.

If there is a reason why you haven’t completed a particular test (for example, eye clinic availability), please go ahead and submit the testing you have done and add your comments re: any missing test in area indicated for certificate URL’s.

We referenced published breed club health testing recommendations (where available), consulted with association partners and followed recommendations by Purina staff veterinarians. If you think we didn’t get it quite right for your breed, please send your comments to our team at proclubcan@purina.nestle.com.
